我提名的Steven Holl Architects的北京当代万国城(Linked Hybrid)入围伦敦设计博物馆2009年度设计奖。以下是我的提名理由：

针对中国日渐严重的社会分层问题，Steven Holl Architects设计的北京当代万国城致力于打破不同阶层的隔绝。它是个私人开发的大型住宅项目，但通过地面的商业和娱乐设施向全社会敞开，又以相互链接的空中走廊和顶层花园营造更多公共空间。这种开放社区的实践与它另一为人称道的设计──采用地源热泵系统为整个社区制冷取暖以减少能耗──可以说是建筑师在追求社会和环境两方面可持续发展的完美典范。

Pointing to the increasingly severe social division in China, Linked Hybrid (Beijing) designed by Steven Holl Architects is devoted to bridging the caps between different classes. Though a large-scale residential project invested by private developers, Linked Hybrid is inviting and open to the public through commercial and entertainment facilities on the ground level while creating more public space by multi-connected skybridges and roof gardens on higher levels. Together with its pracitice of the open community, Linked Hybrid has another accailmed design -- the energy efficient Geo-thermal system which provides Linked Hybrid with cooling in summer and heating in winter -- making it a perfect example of architects' efforts to pursue sustainable development both socially and environmentally.
